Frequently Asked Questions

The goal of One22’s Rent Assistance program is to provide stability to qualifying households through assistance paying rent one time per 12 months. Because we have a limited budget for rent assistance, One22 strongly encourages community members to access all available local, state and federal resources first. Our Client Services team can assist you with this.

Eligible individuals and households for rent assistance are those who:

  • Have worked continuously for the past six months for at least 30 hours per week in Teton County, Wyoming. This can be the sum of hours from more than one job.
  • Have no more than 50% of their gross income going towards rent.
  • Have household income at or below 80% Median Family Income for county of residence.
  • Have at least 12 months between receiving rent assistance from this program and a subsequent application.

Median Family Income (MFI) is calculated and updated yearly by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and represents the middle income level for households in a geographical area. For example: in Teton County, Wyoming the yearly income limit for a family of four at 80% MFI is $113,200. If you have a question about MFI and your eligibility for our programs, please contact us – you may qualify!

To apply for rent assistance, there are three steps you’ll need to complete:

  1. Fill out a rent assistance application online. If you need assistance with completing the application form, please call us at (307) 739-4500.
  2. Participate in a one-on-one meeting with a Client Services Coordinator. When we receive your application, a member of our Client Services team will contact you to schedule a meeting time.
  3. Prepare necessary documents. The Client Services Coordinator will outline the specifics of necessary documents. Generally, this will include:
    • Proof of household income for the last 60 days
    • Verification of employment in Teton County, Wyoming
    • Current lease/rental agreement or landlord verification form
    • Income and expense sheet

We encourage homeowners to discuss their options with their lending institution as our Rent Assistance program does not cover mortgage costs. However, please contact us because we may be able to share other resources and information that can help.

One22 encourages applicants to access all available local, state and federal resources first; this includes unemployment benefits. Please contact us because we may be able to connect you with other resources that can help. If unemployment benefits are not adequate to cover your basic needs for housing, food, medicine and other necessities, you may apply for rent assistance.

If you worked in Teton County, Wyoming continuously for at least the past six months and recently became unemployed, you may apply. We recognize that it takes time to obtain new employment. Please note, we require proof of previous employment in Teton County.

The goal of One22’s Rent Assistance program is to provide stability to households through assistance paying rent one time per 12 months. Because we have a limited budget for rent assistance, multiple factors are taken into consideration for decisions such as: rent to income ratio, employment, prior assistance provided, household composition and size, availability of funds and access to, or eligibility for, other resources.

A goal of the First/Last/Deposit program is to help households obtain healthier, more stable and affordable housing so the need for rent assistance decreases. However, each household’s situation is unique. Please contact us if you have received First/Last/Deposit assistance and would like to inquire about rent assistance.

Please call our office at (307) 739-4500. A member of our Client Services team will be glad to assist you.
