EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
How it Works

Emergencies come in many shapes and sizes for individuals, families and our larger community. If you are facing a sudden, unexpected need that directly impacts your ability to meet the essential needs of you or your family, One22 can help with client service support and resource coordination, as well as one-time emergency financial assistance.

In the event of community-wide emergencies, such as natural disaster or other critical incident, One22 is able to stand up dedicated programs to provide rapid response alongside our human service and municipal partners.

Frequently Asked Questions

The goal of One22’s Emergency Assistance program is to provide one-time relief to low- to moderate-income individuals and households who live or work in Teton County, Wyoming and have experienced a sudden, unexpected setback that impacts the ability to meet essential needs. The Emergency Assistance program can provide timely, responsive relief through client support and resource coordination, as well as one-time emergency financial assistance.

Eligible individuals and households for emergency assistance are those who:

  • Live or work in Teton County, Wyoming.
  • Households which have applied to One22 in the past for financial assistance, food assistance or Youth Enrichment Scholarships may apply for emergency assistance.

The Emergency Assistance program is designed for households at or below 80% of Median Family Income (MFI).  However, we will consider extenuating circumstances. If you have a question about your eligibility, please contact us.

An emergency assistance request includes the following:

  1. A financial assistance request form, available online;
  2. Income documentation and other supporting documents; and
  3. An in-person meeting with a Client Services Coordinator

If you need assistance with your request, please call us at (307) 739-4500.

We accept requests on a rolling basis for one-time emergency assistance. Given the time-sensitive nature of the emergency, a Client Services Coordinator will be in touch within one business day upon receipt of your online application. If your situation needs attention more immediately, please call us at (307) 739-4500 or visit us directly at 180 S Willow Street in Jackson, WY, during our open hours.

The Emergency Assistance program prioritizes one-time emergency financial assistance for essential needs such as shelter, medical prescriptions or small medical items, emergency transportation for relocation or necessary travel, or child care to maintain employment. Please include a description of your emergency and specific need in the online application.

During the in-person meeting, we will learn more about your specific situation. Because emergency financial assistance is one-time, we will work with you to identify and coordinate resources for support past the immediate emergency.

Emergency financial assistance is not available for: medical/dental/vision visits or treatment, debt reduction, legal fees, storage payments, tax relief or mortgage assistance.

The goal of One22’s Emergency Assistance program is to provide timely relief to help a household stabilize while they formulate a plan, consider options, and garner the ongoing support they need. It is not intended as ongoing support. Because we have a limited budget for emergency assistance, multiple factors are taken into consideration such as: income, length of living or working in Teton County, Wyoming, household size and composition, access to or eligibility for other resources, and partnership on a plan past the immediate emergency.

Please call our office at (307) 739-4500. A member of our Client Services team will be glad to assist you.
