Frequently Asked Questions

Youth entering kindergarten through 12th grade in the fall whose families reside and/or work in Teton County, Wyoming may be eligible for summer scholarships. Eligibility is based on the household’s Median Family Income (MFI).

Summer camp scholarships are structured as partnerships between One22, the partner program and families, with each providing a contribution toward the cost of the activity.

MFI is calculated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) each year based on actual data for Teton County, Wyoming. One22 uses current MFI guidelines from the Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department.

No, please submit a scholarship application through One22 first. One22 partners with several organizations to offer scholarships for summer camps. The scholarship application asks you to mark your camp preferences. You may select up to two camps per student. We will do our best to match preferences, keeping in mind camp capacities.

One22 requires an online summer scholarship application and supporting documents. If you need assistance with your application, please call us at (307) 739-4500. After submitting the application, a Scholarship team member will contact you.

  1. Submit a summer scholarship application online and attach: Documentation of household income if you have not submitted this to One22 in the last 12 months:
    • Pay stub(s) documenting earnings for all wage earners in the household in the last thirty days or the most recently filed tax returnOther income received in the last thirty days such as Social Security, pension or retirement, public assistance, child support, unemployment benefit statement and any other relevant income (such as letter from employer detailing hours worked and total pay for the past month)
Once household income has been verified, your family will not need to submit additional documentation for future scholarship applications for 12 months, unless economic circumstances change.
  2. A Scholarship team member will be in touch with you about completing an income and expense sheet. If you already completed one in the last twelve months, we will review it with you.
  3. Engage with a Scholarship team member to connect your child with a program partner providing summer camps.

Please see the main Youth Enrichment Scholarships page for a list of current partners.

For entering kindergarten through eighth grade, the summer scholarship program can support up to four weeks of camp or program participation (equivalent to 20 days). For entering ninth through 12th grade, the summer scholarship program will support one week of a camp or program. Scholarships can be applied to day camp and overnight camp.

Except for extenuating emergency circumstances, changes to camp enrollment and camp dates or cancellations will not be made by One22’s Scholarship team. Please communicate with the camp directly about enrollment or date changes and possible effects on the scholarship amount. Programs have different policies about changes and cancellations. It is possible that you may still owe the program even if your child does not attend.

We will do our best to make sure every qualifying youth has the opportunity to participate in a program.  However, we cannot guarantee space, so we encourage families to apply as soon as possible.

Scholarship applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Because we expect that fewer programs will be available by June, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

After you submit your application, a member of our Scholarship team will contact you to verify that your application is complete. This includes income information and completing One22’s monthly income and expense sheet. Once your application is complete we will work with our partner programs to determine summer camp placements. After the partner program verifies your camp spot with our scholarship team, we will contact you and send you a Partnership Agreement to sign and return to us.

After you sign One22’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), please follow the program’s registration process. One22 will try to provide you with the most up-to-date information about the registration process, but the best source of information will be the summer program provider.

Yes, all scholarship youth enrolled in a day camp may receive a healthy packed lunch through our partnership with Hole Food Rescue’s Sprout program. If your child has a food allergy, we ask that you pack a lunch for them. If you prefer to opt out of the lunch program, please inform your Scholarship team member.
