More about each workshop and presenter April 8: A Roadmap to Financial Well-Being Financial well-being means peace of mind around money. It looks like being able to pay all of your expenses while also regularly saving for emergencies and your future goals. But how do we get there? Join award winning podcaster, author and AFC® (Accredited Financial Counselor), Jen Hemphill, for a roadmap to financial well-being. Jen will be interviewed in the English workshop by Shelby Read, co-founder and Senior Strategist at Rocky Mountain Consulting, and in the Spanish workshop by Antuanett Lopez, therapist and host of local Spanish radio show “Cultives de Sabiduria.” Along the way, pick up tips and techniques around budgeting, emergency savings, credit and debt management and investing. This workshop sets the stage for the rest of the spring workshops, which go deeper into each of the topics in the roadmap. About Jen HemphillJen Hemphill is an award-winning podcaster, AFC® (Accredited Financial Counselor), author, and speaker. Her mission is to help people be more confident and simplify their finances so they can save more, get out of debt quicker, and build wealth! About Shelby ReadShelby Read is Partner and Senior Strategist at Rocky Mountain Consulting with over 20 years of experience in non profits, educational leadership and policy and philanthropic advising. A skilled facilitator, she leads workshops and community conversations with underrepresented groups around various topics. In 2019, Shelby was awarded the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s “Rising Star” award given to “an individual, under the age of 40, who is blazing the streets with their innovation and service.” In addition to her BA and Master’s Degrees, Shelby has formal training from the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication, Interaction Institute for Cultural Change and Cornell University. About Antuanett LopezAntuanett Lopez, is Owner of Reconciliation Health Therapy and a Licensed Bilingual Therapist. She is passionate about health, balanced living, and the transformative power of mindset shifts. Antuanett’s approach is rooted in therapeutic healing. With a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she facilitates individual and group therapy drawing from her bilingual and multicultural experience to meet clients where they are, fostering positive change in alignment with their clinical goals. Antuanett is also the host of “Cultivos de Sabiduria (Crops of Wisdom)” which airs on KHOL radio and is found on Spotify and YouTube. April 14: Emergency Savings = Empowerment An emergency savings fund is money you set aside to pay for expenses that come up unexpectedly, such as a surprise car repair, medical need or a job loss. Building an emergency savings fund can help prevent facing tough financial situations like going into debt and instead promote more peace of mind and empowerment. Join Megan Smith of Deliberate Dollars and Kenia Stack of Club de Abundancia to learn strategies to build emergency savings, how much to put into it, where to put your savings and how to keep it replenished. About Megan SmithMegan Smith is a small business owner and systems thinker who, over a decade ago, became very interested in personal finances. She started Deliberate Dollars based on the belief that everyone has the ability to change his/her/their situation. Megan is an action oriented coach and teacher who helps people create plans and set up systems tailored to their life goals resulting in a sense of abundance and empowerment. Megan has worked with a broad spectrum of people one-on-one and through Deliberate Dollars courses and workshops both locally and nation-wide. About Kenia StackKenia Stack is a finance expert of 12 years, an entrepreneur and mother. Through her job she has been able to help hundreds of clients achieve peace of mind with their finances. She has partnered with different organizations in the past such as One22, Voices JH and the Community Safety Network to provide financial education classes. Kenia is originally from Jalisco, Mexico. Coming from an upbringing where money was hardly discussed but always needed, as an adult she started noticing certain thinking patterns that were keeping her in a state of constant despair when it came to her finances. That’s when she decided to begin learning about the role of mentality as it relates to handling money. Through her learnings she became a public speaker and created her business, Club de Abundancia, in which her purpose is to empower the Latino community to take initiative in changing their lives for the better. Through her business she has been able to help countless clients achieve their financial goals, and most importantly, experience peace with their money habits. Her favorite topics to discuss with clients are budgeting, savings, building & maintaining credit and the importance of changing their mentality to start living a better life. She has been in this community for 15 years and her favorite things to do are to travel the world and spend time with her daughter! This workshop will be presented in English and Spanish. Join staff members of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area to learn what credit and debt are, why it’s important to understand the pros and cons of both and good credit and debt management habits. Whether you haven’t established credit yet, want to improve your credit, or get a handle on debt, this interactive workshop will arm you with excellent information. About Teton HabitatFounded in 1995, Teton Habitat builds truly affordable homes in the Greater Teton Area. As a 100% community-based and community-funded nonprofit, it proudly builds homes for homeownership for individuals and families living and working in Teton County, Wyoming making between 30-80% of Area Median Income. April 30: An Introduction to Retirement Investment You’re putting in place your financial well-being: you’re managing your expenses and your budget, building an emergency savings fund, paying down debt and building credit. What next? Consider investing in yourself for retirement!
