The Child Care Assistance program may provide financial assistance for child care and babysitting expenses for children age 11 and younger up to three times between January and December of a given calendar year. It assists families who have experienced an unexpected loss of income or increase in household expenses. Child care assistance is provided once a month for the equivalent of half a month of child care expenses at your provider’s or babysitter’s daily rate, up to the cap. The cap is $750 per child and the household cap is $1,500 per month. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE? One22 encourages community members to access all available local, state and federal resources first. Our Client Services team can assist you with this. Individuals and households who have lived or worked in Teton County, Wyoming continuously for at least the past six months may request financial assistance up to three times between January and December of a given calendar year. This program provides financial assistance for child care costs if a family experiences an unexpected loss of income or increase in household expenses. One22 Basic Needs Programs are designed for households at or below 80% of Median Family Income (MFI). However, we will consider extenuating circumstances. One22 uses current MFI guidelines from the Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE? One22 requires an online financial assistance request and supporting documents, as well as a phone consultation with a Client Services team member. Submit a financial assistance request online and attach: If available, an invoice from your child care provider or babysitter that details cost per day or a signed statement by the applicant that details the provider’s or babysitter’s cost per day Documentation of household income: Pay stub(s) documenting earnings for all wage earners in the household in the last thirty days Other income received in the last thirty days such as Social Security, pension or retirement, public assistance, child support, unemployment benefit statement and any other relevant income (such as a letter from employer detailing hours worked and total pay for the past month) A Client Services team member will be in touch with you about completing an income and expense sheet. We will consider more than one category of assistance for your household. CAN I APPLY FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE MORE THAN ONCE? This program is intended to serve as financial relief for families experiencing an unexpected loss of income or increase in expenses. Families may request financial assistance up to three times between January and December of a given calendar year. Requests can be made for assistance once in a given month. MY CHILD CARE PROVIDER OR BABYSITTER IS LOCATED OUTSIDE OF TETON COUNTY. DOES THIS QUALIFY? Yes. If you have worked in Teton County, Wyoming continuously for at least the past six months, live in the greater Teton area (including Lincoln and Sublette Counties, Wyoming and Teton Valley, Idaho) and the provider is in your residential community outside of Teton County, this qualifies. WE LOST OUR JOBS IN TETON COUNTY AND LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTY. CAN WE APPLY? If you worked in Teton County, Wyoming continuously for at least the past six months and recently became unemployed, you may apply. We recognize that child care is essential to seeking, obtaining and maintaining employment. We also recognize that parents or guardians may lose their “spot” if a child is pulled from child care at any time. Costs to maintain child care while you seek employment are eligible. I AM BEHIND IN MY BILL TO MY CHILD CARE PROVIDER. CAN I APPLY FOR FUNDS TO MAKE ME CURRENT? If you meet eligibility, you may apply for financial assistance and apply funds to your child care costs however you need. Child care financial assistance is provided once a month for up to the equivalent of half a month of child care expenses at the daily rate, up to the cap. The cap is $750 per child, and the household cap is $1,500 per month. I RECEIVE A DFS SUBSIDY OR A SCHOLARSHIP THROUGH MY CHILD CARE PROVIDER, BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH. CAN I APPLY? Yes. If you’re in need of financial assistance to cover child care costs beyond a subsidy or scholarship you receive, you may apply. IS THERE A DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE? Child Care Assistance applications are due by the 5th and the 20th of the month. After you submit an application, a member of our Client Services team will talk with you to ensure we have the information needed to review your application. Our Client Services team can also connect you with support of your choosing beyond financial assistance. We will have the checks available at the beginning of the month and mid-month.
